This disease may also present with chest pain, productive cough, dyspnoea, tachypnea, hypoxia, or tachycardia. Transmission is by inhalation of infected respiratory secretions, or indirect contact. Confirmation is by identification of Streptococcus pneumoniae in a sputum sample. |
